In 2025, the U.S. implemented a variety of travel bans and visa issuance restrictions, blocking or limiting entry for nationals of several countries. On January 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of State expanded those previous limitations, now affecting foreign nationals from 57 countries total, in full and partial bans, including travel restrictions, visa bonds, adjudicative holds and the review of prior admissions.
